A new copper fuel line was supplied by Forest Classics and this was fitted into the existing Bix butane burner assembly in the firebox.

Following setting up of the gas burner jet and tuning the flame for optimum heat, the locomotive was given a steam test on the loco test bed at Low End Works.

Subsequently it was decided to design and build a new mounting jacket (in zinc) and support plinth (in plywood) for the new fuel tank. This was installed in the rear of the new cab structure.
